I dare to say that Dubrovnik as a travel destination makes every “Game of Thrones” fan’s heart beat faster. I also watched all 8 seasons completely captivated and excited. However, Dubrovnik is so much more than just the filming location of this successful series.
Bike tour around Lake Neusiedl
Lake Neusiedl may not necessarily be the best choice for a bathing holiday, but water sports enthusiasts, wine lovers and cyclists will definitely get their money’s worth here. We opted for the latter… but we didn’t miss out on the enjoyment of wine either 😉
Tulum – our 5 tops and flops
Honestly? When we arrived in Tulum we wanted to leave immediately 🙈 It was loud and hectic and had nothing to do with the relaxing break that we had hoped for. However, since we couldn’t rebook on such short notice, we decided to stay and make the best of it. If you know a few things in advance, a stay in Tulum can be a great experience 😊
Excursion to Tulum Ruins and Cobá & the Choo-Ha Cenote
As beautiful as it was on the beaches of Mexico… after a few days I suddenly had the urge to immerse myself in some of the country’s culture and history. Where can you do that better than in one of the numerous Mayan ruins of the Yucatán Peninsula. We had already visited the most famous Mayan site Chichén Itzá 10 years ago, this time we were drawn to the jungle.
Isla Mujeres – the island of women
To be honest, Isla Mujeres was of little importance for my planned trip through Yucatán and yet, surprisingly, it became my Mexico highlight 😍
Zurich – our top 10 places
Basically, we’re total bumpkins, but when things get too monotonous for us, we get in the car or on the train and plunge into the turbulent city life. Zurich city center is ideal for this, we are right in the middle of it within half an hour.
In recent years we have had enough time to explore every corner of Zurich. In this blog I summarize our personal 10 highlights. The order has no meaning and also says nothing about which place is our favorite place 😉 Well… maybe I’ll tell you our “favourite place” at the end.
Engelberg in winter – top 3 activities
Normally we prefer to go south in winter 🌞 However, the pandemic had encouraged us for the last 2 years to move our vacations to Austria & Switzerland. This winter, the little obstacle 2G was added. However, when it comes to holidays, there are no lame excuses for us, we look for solutions! So we activated our gray brain cells and lo and behold… we spent the most beautiful winter holiday so far in the Swiss mountains and all without any restrictions 😉
Einsiedeln – monastery, panorama trail & Christmas market
For us newcomers to Switzerland, Einsiedeln was mainly known to us because of the famous Christmas market. Meanwhile we also know that the Einsiedeln monastery is very popular with pilgrims, there are opportunities for skiing and cross-country skiing, as well as a delicious cheese factory. Apart from that, we discovered a really great panoramic trail from Einsiedeln to the Sihlsee. Reasons enough to pay a visit to this place 😉
Top of Europe – the Swiss Alps from a bird’s eye view
The mountains are my great passion 😍 … for me the only place where you can feel the limitless freedom. Usually we are equipped with a backpack and hiking boots, this time we needed snowshoes and sunglasses 😊
Panorama Trail Saalachtaler Höhenweg
We have had the opportunity to explore the holiday region of Saalfelden Leogang a number of times. Winter sports enthusiasts are attracted by 270 kilometers of downhill runs and 70 state-of-the-art cable cars and lifts, and in summer you will find Austria’s largest bike region here. However, a completely different highlight lures us to this area… the Saalachtaler Höhenweg 😍
