Just lying around and doing nothing is just not in our nature, so we were looking for a bit of variety during our all-inclusive stay in Punta Cana.
Neither of us had tried ziplining before and monkeys are always nice, right? π
We were picked up from our hotel complex with a delay of 15 minutes. It was clear to us that we were taking part in a group activity, but we hadn’t expected to spend so much time picking up other people. We sat in the bus for a total of 2 hours π Good … we had nothing else to do, the bus was well air-conditioned and all passengers wore their mouth and nose protection.
Arrived in the middle of the Anamuya jungle, we were provided with the appropriate equipment for ziplining (I even received a helmet especially for my GoPro camera).
After a short tutorial, the fun started.
The goal: 18 platforms – 12 ziplines. The first 4 were relatively short and meant for practice. From the 5th zipline it got more exciting… freestyle (without hands) or a race side by side on the longest zipline (800 m).
After the adrenaline rush, we got a short tour to the Coconut House and the coffee and cocoa production (including tastings and shopping opportunities).

Due to the corona situation, there was no way to buy food (February 2021), only chips or chocolate … our stomachs growled quite a bit π However, we quickly suppressed the feeling of hunger during the next activity. The visit to Monkeyland was our last stop on the program that day π
We had expected that we would get very close to the monkeys and be able to feed them, but we were absolutely not prepared for what really happened. Watch our video… ππππ
Our personal opinion about the ziplining / Monkeyland excursion:
- Ziplining was a great experience
- beautiful insights into nature and the jungle
- Monkeyland was unique
- extremely long transfer
More tips & recommendations:
If you take this excursion during the Covid-19 pandemic, take something to eat with you. In February 2021 there was no place to buy food.
You cannot take backpacks or personal items with you when ziplining. There are lockers, but you have to buy a padlock for $ 5. Or just take your own lock with you.
We absolutely enjoyed the excursion and we can absolutely recommend the tour operator Runners Adventures. Only the transfer time was grueling (2 hours oneway) π
