Bellinzona, the capital of Ticino, is known for its 3 castles and is one of the highlights of Italian-speaking Switzerland. The castles and city walls of Bellinzona have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Fans of the Middle Ages get their money’s worth here π
The largest castle, the Castelgrande, is the main attraction. The area is relatively large, so you need some time to explore everything.

Basically, 1 day in Bellinzona is completely sufficient. We stayed there one night as we wanted to take things a little more relaxed π
The Castelgrande and the Castello di Montebello are within easy walking distance. A car is recommended for the Castello di Sasso Corbaro.
