Up to now, it has always been true for me that the further a travel destination, the more interesting it was. I only wanted to explore destinations that could be reached in a few driving hours when I was old and gray or as soon as I didn’t want to take such long journeys 😉
The Corona virus has thwarted us globetrotters in terms of long-distance travel, at least for the near future. However, I am overjoyed that the hotel industry was able to reopen and that we could at least go on holiday in the surrounding countries. Suddenly you realize how grateful we can be to live in such wonderful countries as Austria and Switzerland.
Our 3rd wedding anniversary was just around the corner. Of course, this had to be celebrated in a special place. So we decided to go on a weekend trip to Lucerne. Kayla was of course allowed to accompany us 😉

Neither of us are smokers, but tobacco plays a major role in Cuba. Some even claim that the Cuban cigar is the best in the world 😉 Reason enough for us to take a day trip to the famous Valle de Viñales. At that time we had no idea that we would face the fear 🤣
Sven was lucky enough to have discovered Cuba in his childhood. He often told me about dancing and happy people in the park and music from every corner. That alone was enough to make Cuba pretty much at the top of my bucket list as a destination 😊
The Panorama Route is probably not as well known as the Garden Route, but absolutely worth seeing 😍 After our safari in Sabi Sands, we decided to end our South Africa tour with 2 nights in White River… a good starting point for the Panorama Route – one of the most beautiful routes in South Africa.
Everyone who goes on safari has one big goal – to see the Big Five. After doing some research, I found that the probability of meeting all 5 (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard) on the very first safari is relatively low. Anyone who knows me better knows that this is not satisfactory for me and that I try to optimize the chances as much as possible 😉
