Admittedly, I had my problems with Switzerland at the beginning. As nice and correct as the Swiss are … You won’t find connections so quickly here. When Sven moved a few kilometers further to the Pfäffikersee after 2 years, a lot changed …
I’m still commuting back and forth between Austria and Switzerland. I just can’t quite part with Austria (more precisely my family and friends) yet. Since the Pfäffikersee is only a 5-6 hour drive away and I can work from anywhere, commuting doesn’t bother me yet 😉
On the contrary … the ceiling quickly falls on my head and the change of scenery is often very convenient for me 🤣
Sven had previously rented an apartment in a large block of flats for 2 years. We didn’t even know our door neighbors … kind of sad. The apartment on the Pfäffikersee is in a completely quiet location and we were quickly accepted into the small community. Here, of course, every resident was curious who the “newcomers” were 😉 Kayla also made it a lot easier for us to meet people. Dog owners know what I’m talking about 🤣
We can reach the Pfäffikersee in just 10-15 minutes on foot. It takes about 2 hours (10 km) to go around the lake. We present this circular route to you in our YouTube video 😍
This area may not be the top tourist attraction, but it is worth a visit. Although that’s not really true. The “Juckerhof” on the Pfäffikersee is extremely well attended at the weekends. But just have a look at our video and form your own opinion 😉
Restaurant recommendations (is constantly being expanded):
- Juckerhof in Seegräben (Adventure & Eventhof)
- A casa di Luca (Pfäffikon)
- Restaurant Brauerei (Pfäffikon)
- Big Burger Diner (Wetzikon)
- Mr. Pizza (Wetzikon)
- Neue Spinnerei (Aathal)
More tips & recommendations:
You can find parking spaces at the Juckerhof (but these are quickly occupied on weekends), in Pfäffikon, at the lido in Auslikon, partly along the lake between Pfäffikon and Seegräben or a little further away at Aathal train station.
