Of course, the city of Pisa, with its world-famous leaning tower, should not be missing on a tour of Tuscany. To be honest, I didn’t know much more than “the leaning tower” when I was planning this day trip 🤣
We had planned half a day to explore this Italian city. One thing caught our eye immediately … the international tourists were missing. You only have a world-famous city like Pisa to yourself during Corona times.
The main sights – the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the Baptistery and the Leaning Tower – are located in the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, the Square of Miracles. All buildings are made of white marble and are part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
